Before I actually jump into the content, can we go back to the title? Me, doing a fashion haul?! Let me give you guys the precaution that in my opinion I have no sense of style as far as being trendy. I love my personal style; I would describe it as a mix of quirky, colorful, bold, playful or all black. I love black all year around but I am learning to embrace colors and patterns I prefer mid- and high- rise pants vs. low rise. Getting ready for a trip to Jamaica was fun, even though I waited to the last hour to pack! I literally had no idea what to wear so I did like most people and looked for outfit inspiration on social media and google. I even looked at different stylist options but nothing fit me. I finally settled on either ordering clothes from online or going thrifting. I could not decide on my own so I posted a poll on my IG story. The people have spoken and I went Thrifting! I love thrift shopping because I feel like it tests my creativity and you have to try and make sense of the random pieces you find to create a look. I am a very creative person and I want to start conveying that into my wardrobe. Everything I brought from thirfting kept me cool and ready for anything on my trip. I dressed pieces up for dinner nights and down for beach time. Versatile pieces are so important when traveling because you do not want to over-pack. So without further ado I present how I spent $47.76 on for my 5 day vacay:
Black Maxi ($4.50)
I know this is a summer haul but you can never go wrong with a black maxi dress. I wore this dress so many different ways: 1) cute sandals & shades for a laying by the pool, 2) I added a scarf and cardigan for dinner.
Pink Button-up Linen Dress ($3.25)
I got so many compliments in this dress and it was very light weight.
Green Dress ($3.25)
This dress has a tight waist line that still shows off your shape and can be comfortable. This knee-length number is a perfect versatile piece that can be dressed up or down.
European Style Skirt ($3.27)
Blue Bamboo Clutch ($6.25)
I LOVE this skirt! I saw it in a pile and had to have it. The skirt has European style designs along the bottom and France map on the top. I can see me wearing this on my next trip to Europe! Oh, I got this clutch too and it has a map of California on the lining.
Floral Print Skirt ($2.27)
Light-Denim Wash Skirt ($6.25)
I use to hate skater skirts because I felt like they were to short and my butt was out but now I like the simplicity if them. You can wear them high waisted for a more polished look ,or right at your hips for a fun, carefree wear. Then I am just obsessed with denim shirts they are comfortable. Plus I love to layer my tops.
Blue Maxi ($5)
The material on this maxi was a mix of linen and cotton. The lining material did stick to my legs when I started to sweat only major downside.
Red Floral Maxi Skirt ($3.00)
This outfit I did not even get to wear in Jamaica *insert sad face*. However, I did try it on loved how the top sits on top of the skirt but still exposes just a little tummy. The skirt has a high split in the front so many pair with some ankle boots for an outdoor concert.
The magical things you can find in Goodwill still excites me. If you take your time and look you can get a lot of great quality items. I hope you found this post helpful, remember to subscribe to my newsletter to stay up to date and share this post on social media platforms.
